Alright, so, I’ve been messing around with this watch, the CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Skywalker X-33, the classic style one. I gotta say, it’s a pretty interesting piece.
First off, I started by reading up a bit about it. Turns out, the original X-33 was a big deal back in ’98. Omega launched it at the Johnson Space Center, which is kinda cool. It looked a bit weird though, with that mix of analog and digital stuff. They based it on some older watch from ’86, the Seamaster Multifunction.
Then, I found out that this Skywalker X-33 I’m playing with is the third version of it, released in 2014. It’s got this fancy quartz movement, the Omega caliber 5619, which is supposed to be multi-functional.
When I got the watch, I was surprised. It came in a nice box. And guess what? The box has a secret drawer! I pulled it open and it’s where they stuffed the manual and some cards. I felt like a kid with a new toy, to be honest.
I spent some time fiddling with the watch, trying out all the buttons and displays. It’s got a bunch of features that are probably useful for astronauts and pilots. You know, Omega wanted to make the perfect watch for them, just like the original X-33. I’m not an astronaut, but I can see why they’d like it.
Features of the Skywalker X-33:
- Digital Display: It’s got a clear digital display for showing all sorts of info.
- Analog Hands: There are regular watch hands, too, which is good for a quick time check.
- Multiple Functions: I could set alarms, use the stopwatch, and there’s even a mission elapsed time thingy.
- Titanium Case: The watch is made of titanium, so it’s pretty light and tough.
After playing around for a while, I decided to wear it out. It’s a bit chunky, but it’s not too heavy. I got a few comments on it, mostly from people who know about watches.
I even found some forum posts online about it. It seems like people either love this watch or hate it. There’s a thread from 2020 where they’re debating if it is good, also there is another one that people are thinking about buying this watch in 2018. I guess it’s one of those things that you have to see for yourself.
Overall, I’m enjoying this CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Skywalker X-33. It’s a unique watch with a cool history. I don’t know if I’d wear it every day, but it’s definitely a conversation starter. And hey, who knows, maybe one day I’ll need all those astronaut features. Just kidding. Probably not.
