Okay, so, I’ve been seeing this Yves Saint Laurent YSL JUNE BOX BAG everywhere, right? It’s like, the “it” bag or something. And everyone’s going crazy for it. I figured, why not try to remake one myself? I mean, how hard could it be?
First, I did some digging around. Found out this YSL, he’s a pretty big deal in the fashion world. Makes sense, I guess. This JUNE BOX BAG, it’s got that fancy logo thing, the “Cassandre,” they call it. Looks kinda like a snake, or maybe a twisty “YSL”… I dunno. It’s on the front flap and it swivels. Pretty neat, I gotta admit.
So, I started gathering materials. This bag, it’s supposed to be, like, “bulbous.” Round and puffy. I started looking for the right kind of material. I tried to find some leather that looked like the stuff they used. They say it’s supposed to be “smooth leather”. I ended up using some leather that I had lying around.
Then came the hard part – actually putting it together. Let me tell you, it’s not as easy as it looks. I used the same material on the inside and made sure it was soft. I watched some videos, and tried my best to copy the design. I spent hours on this thing, cutting and sewing, trying to get that “box” shape just right. I even tried to copy that pivoting closure thingy. That was a real pain, by the way.
- Finding the Material: This took forever, had to match that “smooth” look.
- Cutting the Pieces: Lots of measuring, had to get those curves right for the “bulbous” part.
- Sewing it All Up: My fingers are still sore. Hand-sewing is tough!
- The Closure: Nearly gave up on this part. Making it swivel was tricky.
After a lot of trial and error, and a few, uh, mishaps, I finally finished it. It’s not perfect, not by a long shot. But hey, it kinda looks like the real thing, right? Maybe from far away… in the dark… if you squint. Okay, maybe not. But you get the idea.
I learned a lot making this bag, for sure. First off, those fashion designers? They earn their money. This stuff is hard! And that YSL, they’re not just slapping their logo on any old bag. There’s a reason why everyone’s talking about them. Their designs are really something else.

But hey, if you’re feeling adventurous, give it a shot! Just be prepared to put in some serious work. This whole experience gave me a new appreciation for those fancy bags, I’ll tell you that much.
